Awareness at schools 2018-05-04T14:02:04+00:00

Create positive awareness and reward with
a unique product

The marble tile we developed got great reactions. We now have a schoolprogram to run before a school gets a tile. We give lessons about waste, plastic and recycling and afterwards we start collecting the plastic lids of bottles and jars. We leave special measure containers in the school for a few weeks. When they’re all full, it means they get as many tiles on their school yard!

A good idea

The marble tile is a great product to show what can be made out of recycled plastics. We believe that giving more information on waste, plastic and recycling, stimulates the kids to be more aware themselves. It also means the marble tile has even more meaning than just a fun, colorful item on the school yard.

How did we make it happen

We got in contact with the municipality of Beverwijk. They offer the lessons and tiles to the schools in Beverwijk. We arrange everything: the contact and communication with the school, the lessons, the logistics, communication with f.e. press and of course the marble tiles.

These companies helped

In this case, Beverwijk is our partner. And of course all the schools that participate in this program.

Plastic waste

We ask all the students from every class to collect plastic lids from bottles and jars. We collect all the lids and place marble tiles in return!

The process

We start with lessons in every classroom. At our first day, we place the containers in the school, so all the students know where to collect the lids after we told them about the project. They collect these at home, ask their families, ask restaurants and supermarkets. We encourage them to be creative, but emphasize that they shouldn't buy many new bottles just to collect the lids.  It's about the plastic that is already part of a householding and that otherwise would turn into (useless) waste.

The reward

After 8 weeks, we count the lids and give the school the suiting amount of marble tiles in return. When we place all these tiles we make it a festive happening!

Create awareness

This is a result every student can be proud of: they are more aware of waste, the environment and recycling. Plus, playing with the marbles is much more fun now!
